Ezzati Development Foundation is a leading initiative that was launched in Syria in 2009 in response to the growing needs for self-protection and safety. Since its establishment, Ezzati has dedicated its efforts to building a comprehensive culture of protection and prevention, extending beyond physical defense to enhance proactive awareness, psychological, and social resilience.
Ezzati began as a community initiative supported by the Syrian Business and Establishments Center (SEBC) and is now a registered individual community organization with the Syrian Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour. The foundation works on community empowerment by raising the psychological well-being and confidence of individuals, increasing their awareness and capacity for self-protection.
We believe that self-protection is not about fighting; it is a way to survive a potential assault. It is about self-confidence and good judgment instead of fear when danger occurs. It is a preventive behavior to avoid being harmed. Ezzati believes in the human need for a scientific and practical individual capacity that enables anyone to protect themselves and others, either through preventive behavior or direct engagement when facing a potential assault.
